This hasn't caused me any problems in the past and although I've read that you can fix this by reinstalling WMP, I haven't done so as the computer I'm on doesn't have an internet connection (perhaps the only one in the world that doesn't) and so I can't download stuff direct from Microsoft's website. One thing I should mention is that I've got the media player bug that prevents movies or "faction destroyed" pictures from appearing and I just get blank screens instead. I play the Unified Rome mod, and I've adjusted a few things here and there so that the Julii get a Temple of Mars, Britons have Abnoba, and Companion Cavalry have 2 hit points (they get killed too easily otherwise and are a pain to refit). I've got patch 1.5 installed and a few minor mods. Has anyone encountered this before or do you know a way of getting around it?
I've delayed on some settlements, tried auto-resolve, left Londinium and gone for Eburacum instead, but every time it crashes in my moment of glory. The bug has hit all of these settlements, and breaking off the siege isn't working. It works fine then.īut now I'm the Julii and I've got armies laying siege to Nepte, Corduba, Scallabis and Londinium. However I've always been able to get around this by breaking off the siege and laying on the siege again, or waiting for a turn to pass before attacking.
This has happened to me as other factions, and no matter how many times I reboot and replay the same battle it happens again and again. I've experienced this in the past a few times - I lay siege to a town and conquer it, and the minute the AI character representing my army victoriously bangs his banner onto the settlement after I've selected occupy/enslave/exterminate, the game crashes to the desktop. I'm playing a campaign as the Julii and have got to about 225 BC but suddenly I cannot move for crashing.
